Parish Council grants available for local groups and organisations – applications invited for consideration at the April meeting

The Parish Council reserves each year a sum of money (currently up to £4,000) for disbursement on grants to organisations and activities which contribute constructively to the life of the village of Mayfield and its residents.

The council says that in recent years there have been few applications for these funds and it is very keen to encourage the broadest range of applications from eligible organisations and groups for the next round which will be considered at its meeting on 6th April.

Applications for pump priming funds for new groups and projects would be welcome.

For the April round a total of £2,000 will be available for grants awards of a maximum £500 each (and the same will be available in October).

Application forms and further information can be found on the PC website at and anyone wishing to discuss an application prior to submission is invited to email clerk.mayfieldpc@gmail.com

Other grants from the current PC surplus, for a maximum £2,000 each, which will be available for projects identified as priorities through the parish community consultation and included in the Development Plan, will be publicised on the PC website shortly.

Three Year Development Plan – Public Meetings

As outlined in the parish consultation survey last November and the recently published analysis, the PC is keen to hold a number of meetings. The purpose of these meetings with community organisations and individuals in the village is to:
i) discuss the priorities in the 3 Year Development Plan based on the themes identified by residents responding to the community survey with community groups and individuals;
ii) listen to potential projects and ideas that community organisations and individuals may wish to develop to support delivery and outcomes in the 3 Year Development Plan
iii) signpost community organisations and individuals to the Parish Council funding opportunities ie the small grant funds and the larger grants from the surplus;
iv) feed back the outcomes from this stage of community consultation to the Parish Council to inform the next stage of developments in delivery of the 3 Year Development Plan.

The meetings will take place in Mayfield Church during March 2022 and anyone who is interested in attending any or all of them is welcome. The meetings are themed and the grid below indicates a range of issues within each theme, although these are not exhaustive.
